In the history of Hungarian exhibitions UKBA is ranked high: this forum of confectioners and bakers organized to a German model was among the first specialized exhibitions to replace former fairs. A similarly great role was assigned to FOODAPEST, an exhibition specializing in food, beverage and food industrial machinery in HUNGEXPO’s organization activity, as since the early 1990s it has grown to become one of the international food industrial marketing events organized exclusively for business visitors.
Changes in the international and Hungarian markets compelled the organizer HUNGEXPO C.Co.Ltd. to reconsider the future of exhibitions. For this reason, in agreement with the trade partners, a new concept was elaborated for the future organization of the exhibitions.
From now on, the two events - earlier held on different dates - will be organized jointly on a biannual basis. The very first such occasion will be held between 21-24 February, 2010. In odd years - thus next time in 2011 - HUNGEXPO C.Co.Ltd. will offer a workshop meeting for these food industrial fields to follow the fast market changes and find effective solutions for the current marketing assignments.
Another novelty in exhibition organization is that FOODAPEST will include food industrial technology, in other words, a display of machines and equipment. This way the exhibitors of FOODATECH, manufacturers and processing entities directly using machines, will be provided an opportunity to appear once again within the framework of FOODAPEST, right next to the UKBA exhibitors, confectioners and bakers.
Novelties include the popular programmes that might interest a wider circle than the specialised visitors: the competitions and shows of confectioners and bakers, traditional at UKBA but a new patch of colour at FOODAPEST.
In 2010 Hungary will have the pleasure to organize the Confectioners’ Junior World Championship, and an agreement has been made that the venue of this sensational competition will be provided by the HUNGEXPO Budapest Fair Centre. Participants form five continents prove their competence in front of a large audience of visitors at this competition, which was organized for the last time is Lisbon, Portugal.
In connection with this exhibition the Hungarian round of the gastronomy competition Bocuse d’Or HUNGARY, a contest for the French gastronomy award will also be held.
